Dominique Easter Part 2

Our story continues on Easter morning. We've already found the eggs at home and are now heading to Grandma and Grandpa Dominiques for lunch. Little did we know that a real live Easter Bunny was there.

That Easter bunny just sat there and wasn't too interesting. But after lunch it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt and of course the other real live Easter Bunny was there. This one didn't just sit there. This one was a lot scarier...

Once the Bunny was at a safer distance it was time to get onto finding the eggs...

After finding all 300 and some eggs it was time to bask in the glory of it all.

First of many...

Bree got her first boo-boo this past weekend. She was just innocently playing by a fountain...

...when she lost her balance. Somehow she managed to get two cuts on the bottom of her foot that started at the tip of her toe and go down into the ball of her foot. She did not like Daddy playing 'Doctor.'

A blueberry mini muffin can make everything better.

Weird Cat

Yoshi is weird but thats why we love him. And yes those are Corn Pops, as in the sugary kids cereal, that he is eating.

Newest Landscaping Project/Pudgie Pie Extravagenza

This weekend was Grandma LeBarrs 75th birthday party...

..and the party was held at Aunt Becky and Uncle Jim's which has got to be the most ideal and awesome party house ever built. Just to stress how awesome this house is, Jim said that he would definately consider moving out of Wauseon to move into that house. Makes you really want to see a pictures of it, right? Well too bad because I didn't take pictures of the house. Part of what makes it so nice is the landscaping. So perfectly laid out. Rustic, but cozy. Well manicured but comfortable. So, of course, returning to our house gives us (yes us, not just me) the motivation to do something about our own landscaping.

Behind our shed has become sort of a dump spot of things that need to be cut apart and burned. (i.e. old trim from the bathroom, old door, shelves, etc) This picture was taken after Jim spent almost two hours cutting boards.

Then there is the row of pine trees at the back of our yard. Between being planted too close together and no one ever removing the posts and wire helping them to grow straight and are now part of the tree, the trees are slowly dying and they look horrible. A few years ago Jim cut the bottom 4-5 feet of (dead) branches and started storing firewood between the trees. I've never cared for it but thats because the logs need split and more neatly stacked.

So now our newest landscaping project is to get all those areas cleaned up. We're going to cut more dead branches and eventually the area will look like this...

I know what you are thinking. You're thinking that by cutting away more branches we're losing even more privacy. Why do we want to be that open to the field behind us? Rest assured that we are going to build a rusic type fence behind the trees to
help block the view. And this long story brings me to the...

Pudgie Pie Extravagenza

Since we are going to have an astronomical amount of wood that needs burning we are going to have a Pudgie Pie Extravagenza at our house this Sunday evening at 7:00ish (or whenever Levi's party is over). Every filling imaginable for pizza or hot dog pudgie pies will be available. There will even be options for dessert pies. Anyone and everyone is invited. Just send me an email or leave me a comment if you can make it.

Dominique Easter Part 1

Our Dominique Easter celebration begins on Good Friday with the coloring of 150,684 eggs.

Okay, that may be a slight exaggeration but after the first 5-8 dozen eggs it really does feel like that many. Bree wasn't much into the coloring of eggs. She was more into the disembowelment of the eggs.

Eventually Daddy came over and helped and she managed to not make much of a mess.

It didn't take long before she became bored or just impatient waiting for something exciting to happen so she passed the time coloring.

Then Momma got a little bored coloring eggs and started decorating Bree instead.

She didn't like that too much.

Whew!! It takes a lot out of a little girl to decorate Easter eggs. Its time for bed and get some much needed rest. Lots more celebrating to come.

Happy Mothers Day to me

This is my laundry room.

For a while now I've been sending subliminal messages to Jim about how wonderful it would be to have real cupboards to hide all the junk...I mean give us extra space to store crock pots and stuff. Apparently the messages work because Jim bought me cupboards for Mothers Day. AND I'm happy to say that he even hung them in a timely manner unlike my ceiling fans, that a year later, are still sitting in the closets. I love you Babe!!

Papa or No Papa?

Try as we might we cannot get our child to say papa. Here is the almost daily struggle we have.

FYI

Our computer finally gave up its fight. Jim is working on fixing it as fast as he is but he's a busy guy. Until then I am only able to get online when I'm at work so postings may be far between for a while. So sorry.

My garden

This is my garden.

I love my garden. I love that my hubby built me my gardens. We had to build this type of raised garden bed because of the sheer multitude of rabbits in our neighborhood. My garden would have never stood a chance on the ground. FYI: I am planting grapes between the metal posts that are inbetween the garden beds. Next year there will be wire strung for the vines to climb. So on April 28th I planted my first "crop" of green onions and in just a matter of days we had this...

Everyday I go out to my garden there are more and more onions popping up and growing and thriving. It makes me so happy that I can actually grow something.

However my darling husband was quick to point out to me that the onions I hadn't planted yet (that were still sitting in the bag) were also growing...

Maybe my thumb isn't as green as I was starting to think. The true test will be this weekend when I plant my tomatoes and jalapeno plants. We'll see how well those thrive.
