Remember when...

Remember when watching your favorite TV show was more important than eating?

Oh to be young again.

My Little Musician

Since I'm the one who bought her the recorder, does it make me a bad parent when I take it away because I'm getting annoyed with her playing it?

First Time

Bree had her first visit to the McDonalds play area yesterday and I do believe she is now hooked. Of course at first it was all a little overwhelming...

...but with a little help from cousin Natalie (and other random kids) she quickly caught on to how great playlands can be and I quickly realized how exhausted I'm going to be this summer from playing at park after park. I also quickly realized how many potential trips to the Urgent Care we're going to be making.

And then, all too soon, its time to leave. Bree didn't do nearly as bad as I thought she would but I can only imagine how much worse its going to get over time.

Excuses, Excuses...

Pardon me for taking quite the blog-cation for the past month. Let the excuses begin.

We made a trip down to Florida at the end of January/beginning of February to visit with Jim's Grandparents for a few days. The weather wasn't all that great for Florida but it sure beat Ohio's temperatures by far. Plus we didn't take Bree with us so it nice to get up when we wanted, eat when we wanted, just do nothing whenever we wanted. It was a much needed break.

It seemed as if we no sooner got home when Lent began and it was time to go see Andrew Lloyd Weber's Jesus Christ Superstar with the original Jesus himself Ted Neeley.

Then weekend after that we were off on yet another "last chance for a while get-a-way" to Casino Windsor.

Unfortunately we didn't walk away with a million dollars (or a hundred for that matter) but again it was a nice little get away to do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted before our lives become restricted by the schedule of a hungry, tired, poopy baby.

On top of that throw in Valentines day (in which we still haven't finished our valentines to pass out to people), weekly prenatal doctor appointments, a sickly child, birthday parties, finding a new sitter, work and the usual everyday errands and cleanings, its just been a very busy month for us. So much of life lately has been filled with lots of beginnings and no endings. For example...

We started making our valentines...

...but after little co-operation from a two year old that is picky on what days she'll get her hands dirty we just had to give up. Hopefully we'll get them finished before Easter.

I finally decided to take down my last Christmas decoration, a strand of white Christmas lights that adorns my dining room window. I just love white lights up any time of the year however the strand of lights burnt out well over a month ago and there they still hang. So, ambitious me, decides that since I'm taking down the lights might as well take down the red curtains and hang up my lighter blue curtains. Sounds good in theray, right? Well after stripping the window naked I discover that I can not find my blue curtains. Its now been over a week and my window is still bare. (That could possibly be from lack of motivation to iron the now washed and wrinkly red curtains.)

I also started making my Christmas cards a few weeks ago... but haven't been touched since.

We started cleaning the garage...

Looks pretty, doesn't it? Now what about the rest of it?

Then there's the all important baby's room. We've started cleaning and prepping that as well.

But obvisously we haven't gotten very far and we're quickly running out of time.

So there you have it. Every excuse in the book that I could come up with for neglecting to keep you updated on the ever so exciting life of my two year old who is still trying her darndest to potty train her baby.
